Description
Nice pair E80CC twin triodes, Excellent condition, made by Philips in Heerlen, Netherlands
This is an very early version of the E80CC! They have welded plates, D-strip getter, pinched waist and a WK3 version code. On the tube the remarks long life rugged and reliable are printed.
The tubes are from the third E80CC version and produced by Philips in the fifties in Heerlen, the Netherlands. The tubes have a D-strip getter on copper post, reinforced and long smooth plates, see pictures.
It is highly regarded as an Audio amplifier due to the matched sections and good linearity.
Very healthy tubes with matching systems; see test results.
Sonics
This Philips E80CC considered to be superior to the later E80CC version and is highly regarded as a ECC82 replacement. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent low noise and very smooth performer with substantial authority.
Verdict of a buyer: The sound is excellent – tight, nice sound stage, vivid, super balanced with authority.
Note: if your system is “dull sounding” this tube is a first choice.
