Description
Rare E80CC twin triode, Excellent condition, made by Philips in Heerlen, Netherlands
This is an very early WK5 version of the E80CC! On the tube the Physical Lab selection is etched. Furthermore it is a very rare red tip selection! On the tube the week code 34F is etched.
The tube is produced by Philips in the fifties (1956) in Heerlen, the Netherlands. The tube has a D-foil getter on copper post, is reinforced and with long ribbed plates and pinched waists, see pictures.
These tubes are highly regarded for Audio equipment due to the rigid construction, matched sections and good linearity. The sound is praise in many reviews on the web; realistic, holographic, robust lows and space.
Very healthy tubes with matching systems; see test results.
Sonics
This Philips E80CC considered to be superior to the later E80CC version and is highly regarded as a ECC82 replacement. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent low noise and very smooth performer with substantial authority.
Verdict of a buyer: The sound is excellent – tight, nice sound stage, vivid, super balanced with authority.
