This quad Siemens E88CC premium ECC88 tubes is precisely Matched.
These premium ECC88 tubes have a bright shield and halo-getter. This very reliable, long life and low noise version of an ECC88 tube which is mostly used for military, professional or communication purposes. The properties of the Siemens E88CC for hifi applications are legendary and widely known. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information.
The tubes are thoroughly tested. The quad is matched very well and all four tubes are internally balanced. The specs of the quad match the factory specifications very well and fulfil the factory specs of a new tube. See test results.
Sonics
- Mids: very natural and fluid. Voices and acoustic instruments often sound very believable.
- High: clean and refined, rather silky than emphatically sparkling. No excessive sharpness.
- Layer: tight and controlled, with good definition but usually not the most massive or spectacular layer.
- Spatiality: a beautiful, stable stereo image with good depth; rather realistic than artificially large.
- Detail: a lot of microdetail without it becoming analytical or exhausting.
- Dynamics: quite direct and lively, but with a certain relaxation.
Summarizing: “transparent with a touch of tube romance, but without an exaggerated colored sound.”
