Description
This is a Telefunken ECC803S made in Ulm Germany. Probably never used; please see pictures and test data!
The properties of this tube are legendary and widely known. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Telefunken produced a very limited number of these beauties.
The printed code U7105201t on the glass of both tube indicates that the tube was manufactured in 1965 in the ULM plant in Germany. The tube has the typical plate structure of the Telefunken ECC803S (frame grid) and of course the diamond bottom. The tube has excellent test values that match the factory specification very precisely. It has balanced triode-systems.
This tube is a real jewel, so please excuse the firm price.
Sonics
Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages.
ECC803S: balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended!
Test method & results
Tested with official Telefunken test set-up. Test methods are outline on the Tube testing page, for test conditions see Category Page.
The measurement data below show that both systems are well balanced (< 5%). And fulfill the factory specs of a new/NOS tube.
