Description
Mullard Blackburn UK production !
This is a ECC82 produced by Mullard in1962 in Blackburn UK (version Gf1). The tube has a ring getter on ‘copper’ post and ribbed grey plates, see pictures. The tube is a red tip special quality selection and is used as a reference tube by Philips Netherlands; see sand blast code! Very healthy tube with NOS specs! Tube with matching systems; see test results.
Sonics
The early Mullardt ECC82 is highly regarded; delivers a warm open holographic sound stage with transparency. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding, recommended!
Note: if your system is “warm sounding’ or to “warm” already, this tube is not a first choice. ECC82 tubes of Philips, Valvo, Siemens or Telefunken are to be considered in that situation.
Test method & results
The tubes have been tested carefully with the official Telefunken test set-up and our sophisticated test equipment. Please read our testmethod for the ECC82 tube family. The measurement data below show that the tubes balanced. And fulfills the factory specs of a new/NOS tube.
