This pair of ECC82 is produced by Philips Miniwatt in november 1955 in the Valvo plant in Hamburg Germany. The tubes have a D-foil getter and long ribbed grey plates (k61 version), see pictures. Very healthy tubes with NOS specs! Tubes with matching systems; see test results.
On one tube the text BRUIKLEEN is etched. This means the the tube has functioned as reference tubes in the Philips physical laboratories !. This tube also has a red tip meaning that is is a special quality selection!
Sonics
The Valvo k61 ECC82, like the other Philips long plates from the fifties, is highly regarded; transparency and a holographic sound stage. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended! In addition the Philips long plates ECC82 tubes are recommended for their slightly warm signature.
Test method & results
The tubes have been tested carefully with the official Telefunken test set-up and our sophisticated test equipment. Please read our testmethod for the ECC82 tube family. The measurement data below show that both tubes are matched and balanced. And fulfill the factory specs of a new/NOS tube.
