Description
Reference tubes of the Philips physical laboratories (Bruikleen Nat. Lab.)!
This pair of ECC82 is produced by Philips Miniwatt in november 1956 in the Valvo plant in Hamburg Germany. The tubes have a D-foil getter and long ribbed grey plates (k62 version), see pictures. Very healthy tubes with NOS specs! Tubes with matching systems; see test results.
On both tubes the text BRUIKLEEN NAT LAB is etched. This means the the tubes have functioned as reference tubes in the Philips physical laboratories !.
Sonics
The Valvo k62 ECC82 of the fifties is highly regarded; transparency and a holographic sound stage. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended! In addition the long plates Hambug ECC82 tubes are recommended for their slightly warm signature.
Test method & results
The tubes have been tested carefully with the official Telefunken test set-up and our sophisticated test equipment. Please read our testmethod for the ECC82 tube family. The measurement data below show that both tubes are matched and balanced. And fulfill the factory specs of a new/NOS tube.
