Beschrijving

ECC83 Philips Miniwatt D-foil getter, long plates, made in 1955 the Philips factories in Heerlen Holland.

Description

This  ECC83 tube is produced in the Valvo factories in Hamburg Germany. The tube is produced in 1955 (70 years ago!). Please note that the date code is between the pins. The tube has a tilted D-foil getter and long ribbed grey plates, see pictures. Very healthy tube with NOS specs! And with matching systems; see test results.

Sonics

The long plate D-foil ECC83 tubes are considered as the best of the best; “they bring the concerthal to your room”; deliver an open holographic sound stage with transparency and detail. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended!

Note from the web:  The pre sixties long plates from Hamburg ECC83 is highly regarded by serious classical listeners looking to improve sound quality. Very transparent and open sound with impressive speed and phenomenal high end extension, accurate bass as intended by the original recording. Overall warm to articulate sounding with sweet heights. The top end is warm silky and pleasant and doesn’t get rolled off. And a fine sense of “air” at the top. This mC-version is slightly more warm and broad sounding than the detailed and articulate Philips Heerlen Holland ECC83 mC-version.
