Beschrijving

ECC83 Philips Miniwatt D-foil getter, long plates, made in December and October 1956 the Philips factories in Heerlen Holland.

Description

This pair  ECC83 tubes is produced in the Heerlan factories in Heerlen Holland. The tubes are produced in October and December 1956 (60 years ago!). Please note that the date codes are readable but the type codes are not. They have a tilted D-foil getter, copper grid posts and long ribbed grey plates, see pictures. The tubes are in beautiful condition; only the print on one has faded away! Very healthy tubes with NOS specs! And with matching systems; see test results.

Sonics

The long plate D-foil ECC83 tubes are considered as the best of the best; “they bring the concerthal to your room”; deliver an open holographic sound stage with transparency and detail. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended!

Note from the web:  The pre sixties long plates from Heerlen Holland ECC83 is highly regarded by serious classical listeners looking to improve sound quality. Very transparent and open sound with impressive speed and phenomenal high end extension, accurate bass as intended by the original recording. Overall neutral to articulate sounding with sweet heights. The top end is silky and pleasant and doesn’t get rolled off. And a fine sense of “air” at the top. This mC-version is slightly more detailed and articulate than the warm /full Valvo and the Siemens & Halske Germany ECC83 mC-version.

Please read our test notes and shipping policy before buying !
