Description

Long plate ECC83 tubes from 1958 ! NIB, Most likely never used!!

The Telefunken ECC83 has legendary status and is considered as a benchmark. I refer to the articles on the web for more information. This pair Telefunken ECC83 is made in the Siemens & Halske plant in Munich. During the periods when Telefunken’s production capacity in West Germany was limited, they occasionally obtained their ECC83 audio tubes from renowned fellow manufacturers. Where better then to source an alternative from Siemens & Halske plant in Munich? And from this plant they chose the best, the famous Mc2 long plate ECC83; one of the finest ECC83. I offer this pair for a lucky audiophile to enjoy!

The etch code Mc2 # 8B on the glass indicates that they were manufactured in Munich in 1958! The tubes have double getter posts and a round halo getter. The tubes have excellent test values that match the factory specification very well and balanced systems. The properties of this tube are widely known. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information.

Note from the web: “This is an E8CC83, made by Siemens, and famous for a vivid and clear midband, and perhaps the best dynamics ever. Ever so slightly relaxed on top. Super bass response.”

Sonics

Excellent valve, low noise, low microphony, smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages.

ECC83: balanced and clear sounding with liquid midrange, recommended!

Test method & results

The tubes have been tested carefully with the official Telefunken test set-up and our sophisticated test equipment. Please read our testmethod for the ECC83 tube family.

The measurement data below show that both systems are matched and balanced. And fulfill the factory specs of a new/NOS tube.

Please read our test notes and shipping policy before buying !
