Description
Once in a live time pair GEC ECC83
This is a pair of ultra rare GEC ECC83 tubes. The tubes have a ring getter and are in mint condition. Both tubes bear the same product & date codes and are manufactured most likely in 1968. The tubes are most likely really NOS !; no signs of use at all and the GEC label does not show decolouration. Very healthy tubes with NOS specs and excellent matching systems; see test results.
Note: my tubes are often not the cheapest. But is hard to find better tubes !
Sonics
These tubes sound very convincing in my Luxman preamp; full, space clear and with transparency. A sound that is like a long plate Mullard with ECC803S characteristics. An excellent preamp valve with low noise, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended!
Test results*
The measurement data below show that both systems are precisely matched and balanced. And fully in line with the factory specification for a NOS-tube.
