Description
Pair: ECC83 made in the sixties by Philips Heerlen in the Netherlands
This is a pair Philips ECC83 of the I63 version. The I63 series is produced in the sixties. The tubes have copper post halo getters, silver grid posts and ribbed plates, see pictures. Low microphony and therefore very suitable in the first stage of a preamplifier.
These tubes look and measure unused; see pictures!
Sonics
The I63 delivers sparkling, clear, spacious and transparent sound. Also here I refer to the threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve and very good in phono stages.
Note: if your system sounds to clear and bright already, this tube is not a first choice. In that case Mullard or Brimar may be preferred.
Test results*
Tubes have NOS-specs with matching systems; see test results.
