6060 Yellow-T version, made by Brimar, Footscray, UK

This 6060 is produced by Brimar in their Footscray factory in the UK. The tube has a double post, double stage-getter and copper grid posts. The screen print is nice and the etched code is clearly visible. See pictures. This tube is in excellent condition and tests NOS. This Yellow-T Brimar is highly regarded. 

“This rare tube is the Brimar answer to the Genalex A2900. It was also made by Mullard which are even harder to find. It has a similar construction to the A2900. These are sometimes called the “Brimar Yellow-T” tube due to the large capital letter “T” in a yellow triangle on the glass. The best of these were made by Brimar at their Footscray, UK factory.”

Sonics

The acoustic properties of the black plate ECC81 (Brimar production) are outstanding and widely known. I refer to the threads on the web for more information. The sound of these tubes is equivalent to that of the GEC A2900. These tubes are, like the GEC A2900, remarkable for their air, realism, and seductive warmth, and unfortunately are getting as rare as the A2900 tubes! Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages.
