Description
New in box: Pair Telefunken ECC81. Rounded getters, same date code in original box.
This ECC81 pair is produced in 1950 by Telefunken in Berlin Germany. The tubes have the same date code and rounded plates without holes. The halo-getters are at an angle. Both tubes have a perfect getter flash. “Silver” grid posts. Both tubes show no internal traces of use and are assumed to be NOS.
Sonics
Considered by audiophiles as among the best ECC81 tubes! They are neutral (with a slight hint of warmth) with a great soundstage and characterised by an impressive open “air” at the crisp top end. The midrange is flat, and the bass is tight and accurate. These tubes have a fine sense of dynamics and most are impressively quiet. Soa also excellent for phono stage and preamplifiers!
Test results*
The tubes tests NOS. The internal balance between the triode sections is excellent and both tubes are matched nicely. The measurement data below illustrate that the tube are in excellent condition.
