EARLY Version of the Valvo ECC81 with the rare bended square getter.
These ECC81 are produced march 1956 in the Hamburg Germany Valvo factories. The tubes have a bended square getter, a half box plate structure, a very strong getter flash and copper grid posts, see pictures. This is the only ECC-type Valvo I have ever seen with a bended square getter; some early Mullard and Brimar tubes have this getter type.
Sonics
Note from the web about Valvo ECC81 from the fifties: This tube is characterized by an impressive open “air” at the top end. The soundstage is large. The midrange is flat, and the bass is Impressively tight and accurate. These tubes have a fine sense of dynamics, and most are impressively quiet. I tend to think of them as accurate, and their clean, focused sonic image is astonishing. These are not “very warm sounding” tubes, and to some ears their lower of midrange warmth may be interpreted as transparent/bright.
Test results*
Both tubes look unused and have NOS test values. The internal balance between the triode sections is good. and the pair is well matched. The measurement data below illustrate that the tubes are in excellent condition.
