Philips Miniwatt I65 version
This is a pair ECC83 produced by Philips Miniwatt in the sixties in Heerlen the Netherlands. The tubes have a ring getter on silver post and ribbed plates (Version I65), see pictures. Very healthy tubes with NOS specs! Tubes with matching systems; see test results.
The tubes look nice (no internal signs of use) and measure new ; see pics glas bottom!
Sonics
The early Philips Miniwatt ECC83 ’s most distinctive sonic feature is its transparent, natural and sparkling midrange presentation, with a light touch of warmth illuminating your music. The bass is incredibly deep but well controlled. The sound image is spacious, deep, structured and holographic. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Recommended!
Note: if your system is to “bright” already, this tube is not a first choice. ECC83 tubes of Mullard, Brimar or Telefunken are to be considered in that situation.
