Description
Pair: ECC83 made by Philips Heerlen UK; in the 60’s
This is a pair ECC83 produced by Philips Miniwatt in Heerlen the Netherlands. The tubes have small ring getters and ribbed plates (Version I65), see pictures. Very healthy tubes with NOS specs! Tubes with matching systems; see test results.
The tubes look and measure unused; see pins!
Sonics
The early Philips Miniwatt ECC83 is highly regarded; deliver crispness and transparency. I refer to the many threads on the web for more information. Excellent preamp valve, low noise, very smooth extended highs, very good in phono stages. Balanced and smooth sounding with liquid midrange, recommended! Note: if your system is to “bright” already, this tube is not a first choice. ECC83 tubes of Mullard, Brimar or Telefunken are to be considered in that situation.
